Update 1: It’s 8:30 and it’s still down. I wish they had told me my whole site would go down when I upgraded! I’m super bummed. It should be up in 24 hours.

Hey everyone – Just wanted to post a quick note to let you know that my website, melissarobotti.com, is down. I’m in the middle of making some upgrades (including the new fancy blog), which is never a smooth process! The problem should be fixed by this evening. If you’re a client and can’t view your online gallery, it should be back up by 8 p.m. tonight.

Fall Group Boudoir Sessions

That’s right, you read it right, I’m booking for fall group boudoir sessions. My availability for boudoir sessions through September is extremely limited. I occasionally have cancellations, though most ladies hold on tight to their spots!

If you missed your chance or are maybe still working up the nerve, the October and November group sessions are just in time for the holidays and even Valentine’s day!

In Love in April

This wedding I shot with Ali a few weeks ago was one of the sweetest I’ve seen. Both the bride and groom had the love glimmer in their eyes the whole day!

Boudoir, boudoir, boudoir…

I am so excited for the next few weeks (well the whole year, really!). I’m booked solid with boudoir sessions, weddings, and maternity sessions! I even managed to squeeze in a few family portrait sessions in there too! If that’s not enough, I’ve got some other things planned too, including a much wider blog that will showcase my clients in their full glory!

Here are a few sizzlin’ shots from a session last week at my place in Arlington. I really love the classic beauty look to them, which is also perfectly exemplified by my client.

April Group Session

I think I’ve written before about how lucky I feel to meet so many women through boudoir photography. After this weekend’s group session, I feel that I should mention it again. The group had stories of weight loss, love, family, and friendship. These women are so resilient and caring – truly inspirational. This weekend also yielded a donation to my trunk of boudoir – a stunning peacock feather fan (thank you).

You’d never know by looking at this couple that it was bitterly cold outside. They were a photographer’s dream – very obviously in loved, ecstatically happy, and a lot of fun.

Color, B&W, “Artsy”

I thought I’d post a few examples of the three versions of a boudoir shot, which are included in all my boudoir packages. The color and B&W are more traditional editing while the “artsy” version adds a little funkiness to the shot. This is also the first appearance of two new items in my trunk of boudoir – the mask and the hat (yes, those are little hearts! Special thanks to Steph for that one!)

It’s time to get excited!

I realized today it’s been more than 2 weeks since my last post! Are you wondering where I’ve been? Well for starters, my trip to WPPI was incredible. Despite coming down with the flu the last couple days of the trip, it exceeded expectations!

I picked up a ton of new techniques and equipment that I am thrilled to start using. What’s that mean for you? For my boudoir clients:

• I will be using a new book vendor. The books will be customizable right down to the type of paper used inside, not to mention cover options galore. These books are truly stunning and unique – I can’t wait until my first sample arrives!
• I’m adding a third version of the final edited photos. In addition to getting both color and black & white versions of each final image, I’m throwing in a wild-card artsy version too. I hope you’re excited as I am about that, though most likely not because I’m probably one of the biggest Photoshop fiends around! Watch for sample artsy photos on the blog soon!
• New accessories! I call it my trunk of boudoir. Boas, pearls, fans, hats, ties, and more to play with during your photo shoot!

Okay, so now onto some recent photos. I had a great time with a pair of friends who will both be celebrating their 40th birthdays this year. They both have great spirits that comes shining through in their photos.

Where’s Melissa?

In Vegas!!! I’ll be traveling to Las Vegas with a couple fellow photographers to attend WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photograhers International). A whole week of photo classes, new products, shows, relaxation, and 70-degree weather; what more could a girl ask for? It will be the perfect pre-wedding and boudoir season prep. I’ll be checking my e-mail once a day.
