Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL
What do I bring?
Anything that makes you feel confident and sexy! I recommend bringing a pair of heels.

What do you think looks good in photos?
I like lacy boy shorts, classic corsets, thigh highs, little skirts, men’s button down shirts, pearls, diamonds, and little nighties.

Can I bring a friend?
Sure, if that makes you more comfortable, the more the merrier!

Can I bring my husband/fiancé/boyfriend?
This makes me uncomfortable, so I’d prefer you leave him home and surprise him with the photos later!

Do you do nudes?
Yes, I do tasteful nudes; more Maxim than Playboy.

Do I have to get nude?
Nope, you can be as covered as you like.

What does the stylist do?
My stylist assists you with dressing and posing. She is a former model and has posed for me several times. Plus, she’s a lot of fun!

Where was your makeup artist trained? Is she also available for weddings?
She is a Chanel trained makeup artist. She’d be happy to talk to you about your wedding day.

How many photos do I get?
I select 20 images for the budget package and 40 images for the other packages. I believe in quality over quantity.

Do you touchup the photos?
I touchup any blemishes on the face and body free of charge.

How long does it take to get my photos?
It depends on the package. About 2 weeks for packages that include the photos on a CD. About 5 weeks for books, folios, and albums.

What is a low resolution CD?
Low resolution images are suitable for viewing on a computer. I include this with every package incase you choose not to use all 40 images in a book or album. That way you’ll still be able to view every image in the future.

What is a high resolution CD?
High resolution images are suitable for printing. Clients choose this package if they’re interested in ordering their own prints or albums.

If I choose a package that includes a book or album, can I also get the high resolution CD for a reduced price?
Yes, I offer the CD for $25 if you purchase an album or book.

Will you post my photos on your blog or website?
Given the sensitive nature of boudoir photography, I never post photos without permission from my clients. They must approve each photo individually before I post them. If they allow me to use the photos in my portfolio, I can remove them any time if they change their mind. I never use names on my blog or website.

Do you send my photos out to a third party for books and albums?
Yes, my vendors are Blurb, LustreColor, and AlbumCrafters. They are professionals who are familiar with this type of work. I have all products sent directly to me.

Will you travel?
To anywhere your heart desires. Travel fees apply for destinations more than an hour away from Boston.

Do you require a deposit?
I require a $50 deposit for individual sessions.

Can I talk to a past client?
Absolutely.

Can I meet you beforehand?
Sure! I hold meetings at my home in Arlington.

Do you take credit cards?
Yes, via PayPal.

GROUP SESSIONS

Is there a discount for group sessions?
Yes, a $50 discount is applied to all packages for groups of three or more.

Is the Budget Package eligible for the $50 discount?
Yes.

Do you require a deposit?
I require a nonrefundable $100 deposit from each member of the group. If a scheduling conflict or illness arises for a member of the group, I will reschedule her shoot for a different day.

Where are group sessions held?
Groups up to four are held at my home studio space in Arlington, Mass. Groups of five are held in a Boston-area hotel suite.

Hotels

If there are 5 of us, will you pay for the hotel room?
If the total of your packages comes to at least $1,300, I will cover the cost of the hotel room, up to $350. If it is less, I will split it with the group.

What if we want to book a really fancy suite?
That sounds fun! I’ll contribute $350 if the total of your packages comes to $1,300 or more. I can recommend some ultra fancy suites. In my past life as a content producer for Boston.com, I did a feature on Boston’s presidential suites!

What if there are more than 5 of us?
If there are more than 5 in a group, the sessions will be split into two days.

Do you book the hotel room? What hotel?
I book the hotel room to make sure it’s appropriate for photography. I consider the ambiance as well as how much natural light is let into the room. I’m a fan of the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge.
