Update 1: It’s 8:30 and it’s still down.
I wish they had told me my whole site would go down when I upgraded! I’m super bummed. It should be up in 24 hours.

Hey everyone – Just wanted to post a quick note to let you know that my website, melissarobotti.com, is down. I’m in the middle of making some upgrades (including the new fancy blog), which is never a smooth process! The problem should be fixed by this evening. If you’re a client and can’t view your online gallery, it should be back up by 8 p.m. tonight.
2008 Boudoir Rates
January 1, 2008

2007 was a huge year for boudoir, so for this year, I’ve created a variety of boudoir packages for all budgets. I’ve added Album Crafters albums and folios to several packages. They provide some of the finest ribbon-bound albums around. Click here to check out my new packages.
Good luck, Thushan

Last night I went to my friend Thushan’s farewell party. He’s about to embark on the trip many people want to take, but never get around to doing: he’s traveling the world. Lucky for the rest of us, beginning January 1 he’s documenting his trip in photos and videos, which he will post on a blog. It’ll be fascinating to follow him during the next eight months. I’ll post more about his travels soon. Here’s where he’ll go:
Good luck, Thushan. You’ll be missed!
My Favorite Little Kid is Turning Six!
November 11, 2007
I saw Jenn and CJ today, my favorite mom and son duo to photograph, and was shocked to see he had lost his front teeth. Time really does fly. Jenn and CJ were among my very first serious photographic subjects a few years ago and it’s been fascinating to both watch them both grow and my photography develop. Click here for a look back.
CJ gets the modeling gene from his mom. As you can see in the first few photos, he’s going to break some kindergarten hearts. But no matter how young Abercrombie & Fitch he looks, he’s a fireman at heart.

iWaited for the iPhone
July 2, 2007

That’s me in the black shirt. (AP Photo)
I had to mention the enormous amount of pride I feel for my co-workers. By day, I work as managing editor of DigitalCameraInfo.com. Our sister site, WirelessInfo.com, cranked out the most comprehensive comparative review of the iPhone out there. We waited in line beginning Friday morning just after midnight and worked tirelessly until 3 a.m. on Saturday morning to get the review out. My co-workers were featured on CNN, MSNBC, Boston TV stations, and TWiT. I was in a photo taken by the AP that was used nationally. Check out the clip on MSNBC and some photos of us hard at work.
The studio is christened!
June 7, 2007
It was so exciting to shoot my first client in my new studio space. She let me experiment with some new shots and setups – our session lasted almost two and a half hours. Both Jenn and Bridget were on hand to provide their makeup and styling expertise.
She had her hair done at Leeba, a salon right down the street from the studio. A great choice for those of you ladies looking to have your hair done beforehand.
Here are a few shots…
Upping The Anti
May 31, 2007
Caitlin and I collaborated on a story she wrote for The Phoenix about local T-shirt company The Anti. Words are hers, photos are mine. Check out the slideshow here. Thanks to The Anti crew for enduring two photo shoots, which I just found out about today. I’m a big fan of their work. Check out their shirts here.
A big huge congrats to Caitlin too who was hired by The Phoenix this week. We’ve come a long way together! I remember when we were just little grad students. She’s going to take the writing world by the reigns. See her blog here.
Evolution
May 31, 2007
I had the privilege of assisting my former photo teacher Randy Armor last night during his photo class at the New England School of Photography. I photographed a model while he spoke about lighting. He demonstrated a technique called beauty lighting that involves placing three really hot, sweat-inducing lights very close to a model. The effect is soft and shadowless.
After class he showed me the video below of a photo shoot. Ever wonder what a model looks like before she is lit, styled, made up, and Photoshopped to high heaven? Watch the video below…
